Washington D.C. Travel Resources
Reagan National Airport is located across the Potomac River
in Virginia and is the closest airport to DC. It is accessible via
its own Metro stop on the Blue and Yellow Lines. To catch a
taxi, look for the official taxi stand outside of baggage claim. A
ride into downtown DC will cost about $15–$20.
Dulles Airport is located 26 miles from DC in suburban
Virginia. Taxi stands are located outside the main terminal at
Door 2 and Door 6. A ride into DC will cost about $60–$68.
Washington Flyer also offers a Silver Line Express Bus that
drops passengers off at the Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail station about 15 minutes away. Silver Line Express Bus fare is $5

BWI (Baltimore Washington International Thurgood
Marshall) Airport is about 10 miles south of downtown Baltimore in Linthicum and is accessible via an Amtrak train route
that drops passengers off at DC’s Union Station. A reserved

Metro Rail. The Walter E. Washington Convention Center
has a dedicated Metro station served by the Yellow and Green
lines, and many hotels are conveniently located near Metro
stations or Metrobus routes. As of June 17, Metrorail’s operat-
ing hours are as follows:
• Monday–Thursday 5:00 a.m. –11: 30 p.m.
• Friday 5:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.
• Saturday 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.
• Sunday 8:00 a.m. –11:00 p.m.

Taxis. Washington, DC has 6,000 taxis serving the city. Taxis
use a metered system and all accept credit and debit cards as
payment, as well as cash.
Uber. Uber is another great option for getting around DC.
Sign up and download the app to your phone, and you can
begin requesting a ride right away.
Car Rental. Car rental is a convenient way to travel to areas not
served by Metrorail. Avis, Advantage Rent A Car, and Hertz are
all offering discounts to attendees of the ACS National Meeting.
Parking. Most hotels have parking facilities, and visitors can
find convenient street or garage parking with Park Whiz or
